This is terrific village burgundy. Ruby color just starting to turn on the rim. Strong nose of sour cherries and just enough barnyard to make it interesting. On the palate a seamless assortment of classic burgundy flavors--cherry, mineral, and earthy forest floor (I think the French call this sous-bois) flavors. After about half an hour the wine also developed a fairly thick, meaty texture. Not a bargain wine at $30, but if all Burgundy delivered this value I'd be a happy wino.
