- Drew - 07-30-2003 Much better than the great 2001 RRV...more lush, deep, complex and a longer finish, a definate case buy, IMHO. We sucked this down tonight. BTW, I can download a picture of the presentation. Life is good in Ocean City. Drew - megawill - 07-31-2003 I haven't tried the Russian River Valley version but the 2001 Castle Rock Carneros Pinot Noir is an absolute steal at $10 a bottle...I've tried Pinots at 2 to 3 times the price that can't come near it. This won't remain a little known secret for long, it you like young drinkable Pinot Noir this is definitely a case buy... === megawill - winoweenie - 07-31-2003 Agree on both of the Castle Rock bottlings. They are the result of the wine glut and major sell-offs of surplus juice by many premium producers. Drewsou will be kept busy over the next year, and will be grinning like a Cheshire.
