- winoweenie - 07-17-2008 Thot I'd pulled the wrong dude from the cellar but 'twere rite on. Quite a departure from the normal explosive fruit flaunting bottles I've learned to love from this producer. Had to go back and look at the appellation and then it was as clear as me schnozz(not really)... grapes were from the great Chalone ava. Needs time! Really high in the minerality and tannins, with plenty of fruit to carry this hummer for the needed 3-5. I really like this sucker. 91/90 45 on pre-order and a scant 13.6% alc. Will no doubtless score higher later in life. WW - wondersofwine - 07-17-2008 Brian Loring attended a Mo'Cool offline in Ann Arbor, MI a few years back and had barrel samples (in bottles but not yet labeled or ready for release) of about five wines. The Brousseau was a favorite of one attendee whom I regard as extremely knowledgeable about wine. - winoweenie - 02-12-2010 Opened another for lunch this week and forgot to post. Nose has fleshed out showing more strawberry/red fruit notes and the barny notes are coming thru. Nice mouthfeel that has some grip. Not quite on TOIG but getting darned close. Gonna kick up to a 92.
