From Domaine Rene Le Clerc 13% alcohol
This wine impressed me at a tasting at the shop--seemed to have prominent berries on nose and palate so I bought two bottles.
Color: dark ruby or fairly typical burgundy
Nose suggested all kinds of berries, raspberry and brambleberry, blackberries and even black currant which is usually associated with the cab grape
Palate: raspberry and black cherry
Long finish. Berries prominent but also a kick of alcohol. Perhaps not fully integrated yet. Seems to need a little breathing time and perhaps more bottle time as well. All in all an intriguing wine that I would like to try over a span of five years.
