Tried the Maison Nicolas '99 Pinot Noir ($6.99). It was a disappointing experience. Not that I was expecting anything spectacular, but it just wasn't too good. Limited bouquet, not a heck of a lot of flavor. It felt decent as I swirled it around my mouth, but upon swallowing it, it more or less attacked my throat (even though it was only 12.5% alcohol). It was a little harsh overall. I don't think I'd buy it again, even just for daily drinking purposes.

Joey, that doesn't come close to describing my perception of the wine. And far from being "harsh", it's a soft a PN as I've encountered. Maybe yours was a cooked bottle. Or maybe you tried it alone, without food. Try it again, but with cheese and french bread, or with grilled salmon, or with chicken breasts grilled with olive oil. I also prefer it cool, like a Beaujolais, served at about 60 F.

Hotwine, I didn't take any food with the wine -- maybe it deserves a second chance.
And thanks for the food matching tips.
