finally getting around to making that sauteed ham slices with cream sauce recipe you posted last year and was wondering what sub-$15, easily found wine you'd suggest to have with it? i put the question in this folder cause i figured you'd say a pinot noir. i'm not that big into pinots, though. i know you really like the villa mt. eden, but tried that and didn't like it. same with the echelon. so, i won't be sad if you say something other than a pinot

Try a mourvedre, if you can find one, or another from Southern Rhone.

that is outstanding! i picked up a bottle of mourvedre (albeit from spain) last week that i've wanted to try soon. here's my chance. thanks for the recipe and the pairing tip.

IK,

the ham was wonderful. thanks for posting that recipe. and your pairing suggestion was excellent. had this dish with a bottle of 2001 Castano Hecula, which is 100% mourvedre. a very good wine, that went perfectly with the ham.
