14.2% alcohol
Deep crimson color; slightly transparent. When the glass is tilted, the viscosity first causes arcs to appear on the sides of the glass and eventually to fall as drops.
Dark plum notes contribute to a powerful fragrance and to the flavors. Juicy mouthful with subtle herbs. Fruit predominates in the taste sensations. Delicious with smoked Cheddar cheese from the Finger Lakes of New York, and with wild mushroom bisque. (The wild mushroom bisque would also complement a mushroomy Nuits-St-Georges.) Best at moderate room temperature--not overchilled.

I'm in the midst of an 05 clos pepe and watched the viscosity as you describe in the Longoria. This too has a long leggedness, the drops look kind of like the runs one gets when applying spray paint to thickly and it runs. Nice lasting finish. WP
