Labeled "Pinot Noir," as seems an increasingly common practice for the French, who I suppose are tired of seeing market share in the U.S. decline due, in part, to labeling.

Bright, clear ruby in color, with a muted cherry nose. Very disappointing on opening, with thin, dilute, acidic flavors wrapped in prickly tannins. Inproved only somewhat with airing, as it lost some of the tannins and some emerging fruit caught up with the acidity, but the flavors tend towards the tart cranberry. Not a steal at $19. We'll likely continue with other favorites in the "house Pinot" category. Alc. 12.5%.
