First of all, Garys' Vineyard is a top source of PN, and it seems like everyone who gets those grapes makes good wines from it. This one was not an exception, but it was not one of the best Garys wines we've had.

Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and through evening. Dark garnet in color with purple flashes. Nose of black cherry and a touch of barnyard and smoke. Spicy black cherry flavors with good acidity and a bit of kick on the prickly finish that shows the 14.3% alc. Overall impression was that this just isn't that great.

Certainly did nothing to justify a $41 price tag. Loring, Siduri, Vision Cellars and others make much better wines with Garys' grapes. In fact, I don't see Lorca on the list as getting these grapes anymore, so maybe that says something, too.

Agree Dan that Garys' is a solid source of grapes. Hadn't run into this producer and from your notes am glad I lucked out. Happy to youse and Ann. WW

Again, it wasn't awful, but I expect more from a $40+ wine with Garys' grapes.

Happy New Year from the both of us!
