From Monterey County, CA
13.8% alcohol
Pale garnet color--darkened considerably by third day of recorking and refrigerating.
Red cherry/cranberry nose. Interesting flavors--sour cherry, cranberry, blueberry with a bit of pine needle and cola--a little greenness or stemminess--somewhat tart.
Didn't like it well enough to finish the bottle on the third day or to buy again but found it somewhat interesting. I think there are better Pinot Noirs to be found in Monterey County including Morgan.
Had this with vegetable beef soup and tossed salad and another evening with cheddar cheese.

That's interesting because Joe Davis usually does very well. He's making his wine down at Central Coast Wine with a raft of other PN guys (Brian Loring among them) but he says he's trying for a more Burgundian style. It seems it would be a tough job because he's getting the same fruit that a lot of the guys are who are making those big, dare I say it, Syrah like PNs. I think his problem is that he's trying to restrain the wines to make them more in the French style. Usually, though, he does a pretty good job.

It may have something to do with the vintage. That is the first Arcadian Pinot Noir I have tried.
