I retasted this wine this week. Winemaker Melissa Moravec. 8 clones blended in the wine. Over 14% alcohol. Clear garnet color. Rich cherry flavor with possibly some underlying blackberry. Smooth, balanced structure. Good with pork, duck, or cheese. Purchased at sale price of $25 or less (got first two bottles at $25 and additional two as part of a sampler case that brought the price down even further). Worth $25 or more.
Becoming one of my favorite California Pinots although it may be hard to locate in many parts of the country. Only 600 cases produced in 1998.
