- dananne - 05-16-2005 Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour, and I'd recommend a bit longer at this point, as it started out a bit muted in both nose and flavors. Not sure if it was going into a dumb phase, as I've heard some '02s are doing right now. Eventually evolved into a black cherry nose, with a very supple texture and interesting earthy/mushroomy notes on the finish. Would be an interesting pairing with a mushroom dish, like mushroom risotto. Anyway, a nice wine with some earthy complexity, which I like in my Burgs. Some 'Net sleuthing reveals that this producer is known for an earthy style. Alc. 13%. Paid $40 locally. - wondersofwine - 05-18-2005 I posted earlier on the Chevillon 2001 Nuits-St-Georges "Les Vaucrains" which I absolutely loved. I may bring a bottle to the offline in August although there is a chance it could be closed down by then. - TheEngineer - 05-19-2005 Thanks for the post, I'll look out for it. BTW, where are you hearing that the 2002's are closing down. I would love to read a bit about that. Many thanks in advance. |
