Joe Dobbes is the winemaker for this small operation in the hills outside of Salem, which produces small amounts of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. We purchased this Pinot from the Dobbes tasting room on our visit last summer. Garnet in color with purple flashes. Decanted a half hour before first pour. Black cherry and crushed raspberry on the nose and entry. Some earthy notes come on late, along with some cinnamon spice. Good acidity and some very smooth tannins still hold it together at this point. A very nice wine, but not spectacular. Doesn't have any one thing that makes one stand up, but it doesn't hit any wrong notes either. 13.5% alc. We paid around $26 for it.

Nice to hear you can find an Oregon Pinot Noir at or near $26.00 That is noteworthy. I too have tried the Trinity Vineyards 2004 Pinot Noir and found that the flavors were well integrated and the wine was extremely well balanced. So many others are not as
silky and smooth as the Trinity Pinot and
cost twice as much.

Pinotluvr,
Welcome to the board. I'm another Pinot lover. You are in a good location to keep us informed of finds. Hope you will post some of your tasting notes from time to time.
