I love half bottles of Bordeaux's for all the right reasons. This 01 was in a perfect state right now, about 9 years from harvest now. On opening, nice deep and red berries, cherries and violet on the nose, deep purple in color. On the palate, nothing is over done, good balanced wine, with dark and red fruits leading the way to a nicely structured backbone. Medium plus body and length. Pencil shavings, smooth texture perhaps served a bit on the on the colder side. Nice QPR at $10 per half.
