I bought six bottles on futures and this is the first I've opened. It's a St. Emilion Grand Cru Classe'. 13.5% alcohol. Dark color and opaque. Viscous texture. Dark berry flavors with oak shading; a bit drying on the finish. Mellows with aeration. Probably has staying power until 2010 or beyond. Good fruit as the underpinning of the wine. Had this with beef pot roast with potatoes, carrots and onion and a tomato basil pasta sauce on the meat and vegetables.
$39.99 after arrival. I probably paid less on futures.
