Some one gave me a 1998 from this producer. Just curious if its good, how long to lay it down etc.

Thx

On another wine forum an experienced drinker sampled 40 Bordeaux wines mostly from 1998 and said the Mouthon-Rothschild was the best of the first growths for that vintage. Two different vintage charts rate 1998 in Medoc about 87 or 89 points (very good to close to outstanding.) If properly stored, it should be a great wine with some cellaring still ahead of it. Wine enthusiast chart has it in purple, meaning "Can drink, not yet at peak." Hope this helps
