While my attempt at a clever palindromic handle was thwarted by one letter (curse you "o"), hopefully my pursuit of a wider knowledge of Bordeaux wines will be more successful. I am on a limited budget, but am very interested in becoming more familiar with the offerings of Bordeaux's vineyards. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for wines in the $15-20 range, though I realize that my monetary lmitations may make this difficult. Thank you!

Not difficult at all. Your profile doesn't say where you are, but if you go to any reputable wine shop (we could probably tell you which one if we knew where you were) and ask the main wine guy the same question, you'd get some good answers. There are many Bordeaux out there in your price range that are wonderful. I'm not a big fan of Bordeaux, but I'm sure Winoweenie and hotwine, among others, can give you some very good recommendations.

I AM a big fan of Bordeaux wines, and can tell you that there are some excellent ones in your price range. Any good wine merchant should be able to help you out.

Great, it sounds like I should have some options. I live in Charlottesville, VA and fortunately there is a wine merchant in town that I have had a lot of luck with in the past. Mainly I just wanted to go into the shop prepared. Thank you for the tips!

Welcome to the board, N-O. In this same folder on Bordeaux, do a search on my username of hotwine and you'll see discussions of numerous wines in your price range. Your local merchant is bound to have at least one of those listed.

Been a while since I live in C'ville (UVA, 97 and my wife is '98). But I remember a decent shop at the North end of the downtown mall. There was also another shop a few blocks south of that place, and one street up. Cannot remember the names or actual street addresses, but both were on the west-side of the mall and within a 3-block radius of each other. Just past the library. Mebbe they'd be OK?
My sister also knows of a shop up around the Freshfields shopping center, across 29 from Fashion Square mall.

Give them a whirl, if you're so inclined to peruse.
