$8.99

That was enough to move me to buy one. On opening, I was suprised. I was expecting some wine that had been just about rejected by everyone but this one is okay.

Deep purple garnet colour, opaque, noce is interesting, slightly herbal and medicinal and not necessarily nice but not faulty. Needed a couple of hours to settle down! When it came to, it was a nice crunchy red and dark berry wine with a decent tannic grip. A bit austere in the mid palate but a decent if uninvolved finish. I know that there are plenty of good $8.99 wines form Spain and other areas and this in no way is as good as those but this thing did not embarrass itself like it could have. Decent 82-84 point wine from a great vintage. Who knew that the Bordelais could do decent cheap wine

Haven't had the 2005, but we used carry the Bel Air in our shop and it always surprised me for its QPR. Glad to hear someone else feels the same.
