- TheEngineer - 08-20-2005 From Margaux. Second wine of Chateau D'Issan. Nice overall bordeaux, very straight forward. Deep garent in color with a nice floral, bright fruit and dark fruit nose. On palate the same with good smooth mouthfeel if not a bt subdued. Well considered oak. Medium length with a a bit courser tannins at end and some hotness. Not entirely integrated yet but improves with a few hours in the glass. Should be good while I wait for the 2000's $25.99 per bottle. WW - TheEngineer - 08-21-2005 Looking forward to your impressions! - hotwine - 05-02-2006 Had the '01 vintage last week with venison sausage and cheese. Whew! Funk, funk, funk. And not wet earth, mushroomy funk.... I'm talking catlitterbox funk! Don't think it was a bad cork, as some of it blew off after a couple of hours, but there was still enough there to kill the joy. Definitely not ready for prime time. $16.69 at Costco. Will try it again next year some time. |
