I have not yet tried this. I mention it because Carolina Wine Company says it is a California chardonnay from Dan Kravitz that is unoaked but undergoes full malolactic fermentation. Received a high score (91 points) from Wine Advocate in a review that mentioned both honeysuckle and tropical fruits and "notions of cold steel and minerals." Sounds intriguing. Limited production. And price at CWC is $16.99.

The "cold steel and minerals" line would indicate to me that it hasn't gone through ML. I haven't seen it yet. Since our go to unoaked CA Chard is Toad Hollow, I'm going to have to look for this one.

Sounds good, but a full price point above the Toad Hallow.
