The regular bottling, going strong at almost eight years. Deep, opaque color with only slight bricking at the edges. Nice aromas of currant, earth and dark fruits. Smooth in the mouth with strong currant and black cherry tinged with earth and (slight) mint. Moderate, dusty and slightly gritty tanins indicate a few more years of life left and improvement ahead. Definitely a mountain cab. Medium length finish.

91 pts agrees with the WS but could gain a point or two with some more time.

Many '96s seem to be coming around sooner than my 95s and 94s (though I don't have much of any of them left). BV Tapestry immediately comes to mind as an example. This was an exception.
