Had this with dinner tonight. Too bad I don't take notes as much with wine as I do with food, because this was really nice. Very classic Cab flavors with minimal oak and tannins. Lovely, smooth wine - if you can find some, get it. Had it with a pan grilled flank steak marinated (@ 24 hours - too long really)with oil, soy, honey, vinegar, ginger and garlic, along with mashed spuds and carrots w/ butter (actually Smart Balance), pinch of salt and a spalsh of lemon juice.

Post dinner we opened a very non Cab - Novy 2002 Rosella's Syrah. Lovely, rich, fruity - gosh the superlatives can go on and on. I really like this one. Too bad there's only one left.

I've found anything by Novy to very much to my liking.

I've had many pleasurable moments nursing Big Bobs' Napa offerings. They are very age-worthy. WW

I have the 2001 Robert Mondavi Napa Cab on hand and thought about opening it this week but decided to try a Grand Archer from Arrowood instead. Will report later this week on the Grand Archer (Sonoma County I believe).
