It's easy to understand why Darryl Groom was chosen WineCrafter of the 365. This is a special bottling. Has an opaque purple color that doesn't hide the brillance in the bottle. A nose with an exotic all-spice overture that is full of backberries, cherries, vanilla, and a smidgen of sweet cassis. Silky entry, a solid center with a weighty mouth-feel, and a long, strong finish. The round, supple tannins kick in at the end so you can rest assured this booger will need another 3-4 and will give meeny, meeny years of enjoyment affer that.
