This venerable old Napa winery has finally shed its' mantle of mediocrity and this new edition is absotivaly top-flight. Deep ruby. Nose has brite red fuirts ubnderlaid with a rich plumminess, cassis, earth, and a touch of tar. on the palate this all hits along with a creamy feeling on the tongue along with some cedar. Had this at one of my hang-outs at luinch yesterday and ordered a box on the spot. 91/90 40 buy the box. WW

Have seen a considerable amount of good reviews on this wine - so ordered it tonight while at a business dinner with colleagues.

This wine was terrific. The mouthfeel reminded me a lot of the Shafer 1.5 that I had a few months ago. Big fruit, lovely dense plums, earth and good dusty oak on the finish. All integrates well now, but the potential is really there. Considerable tannins that need a few years to get under control. I am ordering at least a case. Terrific. Paid 80 on the wine list, most discount places have it for 35.
