When visiting a Sam's Club with my parents, I saw these going for $17 so picked up a couple--I've seen 'em for about $24 elsewhere in the part of Florida.

Tried a bottle tonight with roast beast w. onion gravy, sweet corn, and steamed broccoli; all was a real treat. The cassis flavor of the cab was definitely there, but I tasted lots of plums, including a bit of prune. Probably needs a few more years to show depth, but a very tasty wine nonetheless. Alc. ~13.5%. $17.

I normally give the regular Simi bottlings 5 before messing with them The reserves are at least 8-10. Haven't tried the 2000s' yet. WW

Yup. Had the Simi 2000 a few months ago. You can taste the core of fruit and the potential, but at this point its closed off and inaccessible. Definitely needs more time to sit (min. 4 yrs).

I managed to swing a "complementary" Sam's Club card (from parents' account), so when I'm back in Milwaukee I'll look for some more of those $17 bottles (I hope they have 'em there), and I'll sit on a couple for a while (figuratively speaking, of course!).
