This bottle could almost qualify as an orphan but I knew it was there. It was just in the back of the cellar buried by other bottles in the bin and a stack of cases in the middle of the floor. As I normally drink St Francis wines by their 8th I decided I best make an effort. Opened this babe and was really surprised. Deep ruby with no browning at the rim. excellent red cherry fruit, vanilla, some spiciness and a nice complexity that these wines don't have as youngsters. Cassis with jes' a hint of chocalato made for lots of fun sippin. Had the last half of the bottle with a rare, charred slab of boneless rib-eye steak. Hotsie, it was yumskie. The aroma really was quite lovely. Didn't think this bottle could see 10 with so much life. Wrong Weenier! WW
