Napa Valley, CA 13.7% alcohol
Some purple sediment on cork--tiny particles of grape skin?
Winery overlooks Rutherford Bench but grapes are from various selected Napa Valley vineyards.
Deep purple-red color with crimson glitter.
Viscous--forming definite patterns or "legs" on the glass.
Almost 95% Cabernet Sauvignon but smells almost like a Syrah. Tastes of purple fruits--darkskinned plums, boysenberries, darkskinned grapes. Lots of gobby fruit and no harsh tannins. I like it but I don't find it to be a typical Cabernet Sauvignon at all. Just rating it as a wine I might give it 85-87 points. Rating it as a C.S. I would give it lower 80's as not very typical of the varietal.

At the winery the 2001 is selling for $32. The 1999 is available for $35. I don't remember what I paid for the 1999.
