2000 Easton, California, Cabernet Sauvignon ($15). Alcohol level 14.5%. This is Easton's journeyman Cab. We decanted it and did not notice any sediment. It started out fine with great varietal nose of cassis and other ripe fruits. This was true upfront as well. Even across the palate it was initially very nice. About two thirds down the caraffe things went down hill. It was virtually all tannin with nothing left to tame it. Sigh!
