Speaking of Silverado...

I have a bottle of a 91 Stags Leap Silverado cabernet. Anyone know how this year is? If it's a really good one, is it worth saving... or would we be better off enjoying it as soon as possible?

Thanks from the "wine challenged"

'91 was a so-called sleeper vintage, as "some" have suggested the '98 is. This means that the vintage started out with mediocre to bad evaluations that just keep getting better every year. The '91 now has very high marks. It is ready to drink but could get better.

Hi Gscgb and welcome to the board. Are you sure you don't mean you have a bottle of Silverado " Stags Leap District "? Stags Leap Vineyards doesn't make a " Silverado " bottling. WW After reading the Pelligrini post you do have the 91 Silverado. Should be at the top of its' game Drink up.

Thanks for the reply, the welcome and the grace without eye rolling at my "cluelessness" (guess I belong on the novice board?) I did mean Silverado's stags leap district vintage...I noticed they produced some that were not from that specific region...figured you all would figure it out
The 91 is actually not the Silverado I had years ago...we couldnt find the one we loved(the vintage that I don't remember). I know that it was hard to get and we got the 91 hoping it would be similar. Guess its about time to see for myself.
ANYWAY!
Thanks for the patience...I hope to learn some things from y'all.
