Brite medium ruby. Impressive nose with loads of black fruits and flowers dominating with enough earth injected for complexity. Onr the palate the juice expresses all of the above and some balck-blueberry notes that complement and expand the dimension.Has some soft tannins that will take another 2-4 to soften. Lovely effort. 91/90 49 on futures. 14.5%alc. WW

We opened a bottle of the 2001 Napa Valley version at the shop yesterday for an employee tasting. Unfortunately, it was cooked - not corked, cooked. Quite oxidized, very sherry-like. Too bad.
