Napa Valley.
Here's a nice surprise for $13. Very young at this stage with nice currant, dark fruit, mocha and a little on the heavy side of vanilla....but the balance and acidity is there. Nice dusty tannins through out and finishes moderately long. 1/2 of the bottle was kept for today and it gained considerable weight and developed liquor like flavors. I'll wager that if you put a few of these away for the next several years that there's a prize at the bottom of the grab bag. Me thinks a possible QPR. 13.5% Alc/vol.

I've not had Rutherford ranch for a few years but I remember that they did make good wine especially for the price.

I think it's a winery that also gets good critical reviews. Will have to look for it.
