Have probably posted on this beauty before but any way it needs updating.Medium deep ruby. Extremely floral nose with red fruits, sweet spices, and a hint of vanilla. Slick entry with the flavors smelled powering thru. Pretty mouthfeel in the center palate and a good 30 second finish. Soft, supple tannins will still take this lovely to the next level in the next 2-4. Thoroughly enjoyable. 91. WW

WW, I'm not familiar with Alluvium. Is it a cabernet blend? What grapes?

WOW. This is Beringers' classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbeck. Good stuff. WW

Thanks.

Beware of the '97 vintage Alluvium, right now it is one huge ball of oak, I like oaky wines, I don't care for winey oak. Most of the people I know who have had the '97 report same. Wouldn't scare someone off from trying a bottle as it's reasonably priced but I wouldn't grab a case untasted for sure!
