One of the basement bargains for $6.50 purchased as an experiment with older wines.
Beautiful nose of sweet oak, chocolate and ripe plum. Almost opaque black garnet that lightened at the rim, youthful looking with no bricking. Ripe cab flavors with sweet oak, hints of vanilla and milk chocolate. Good acidity and some drying tannins on the disappointing short finish. 12.8% Alc/vol.
I would have thought this wine to have been an oak monster on release given the nose and flavors.
