Had my usual bunch of friends and cutomers for dinner this tues thru fri nites. I took over magnums of the following wines to wash down the swill they served us; 94 Per Sempre Reserve, 94 Ch. Montelena, 95 Viader,
95 Honig, 95 Robert Craig Mt. Veeder, 95 Phelps Napa, 95 Phelps Insignia, and 97 Phelps Insignia. Also took 3 bottles of 750s for back-up, the Viader and both of the 95 Phelps'. Tuesday was just myself and a business associate. We drank the 750 Viader and the mag of 95 Phelps Napa. The Viader is a stunning wine and I'm sure I've posted on the 95 Napa before. It's impossible to assign a number to any of the wines on this trip as it's all about old friends and seeing who can tell the biggest whopper. From memory tho, I'm sure both were in the Very Good to Outstanding level. Wed nite it was a group of 6 from San Diego.
Started with the Mag of Viader which was slurped so quickly I thot Ritchie our Sommelier had spilled it then followed with the Mag of 95 Insignia. This hummer, as great as it was, needs another 3-5. The big group was Thursday nite when I had 12 plus moi. Started with the 94 Per Sempre which surprised everyone including me with its' depth and flavor profile, followed by the killer Ch. Montelena. This left no doubt who killed Cock-Robin. Next was the very impressive Honig followed by The 97 Insignia
which is a huge wine that muscled it's way out of the bottle. Needs another 4-7. A couple of us still were thirsty waiting for dessert so had a 750 of the 95 Insignia. The 6 women in the group didn't help a whale of a lot with the exception of one who made up for at least 2 of the sippers. When we finished dessert and a glass of Port she announced, semi-seriously, " Any of you guys who gives me a glass of wine can have their way with me ". This was a fitting end to a great and fun evening. Friday nites are always wind-down time. 3 of my business associates, 1 lovely southern lassie who doesn't drink, a father and his son, where the son is a bud lite drinker leaving me and dad to finish off the mag of Craig Mt. Veeder and the 750
of the Phelps Napa. Before I opened either Bob said, " Just open the 750 as I'll only probably drink a glass or so". I said to open the mag because I was sure I could handle the excess. 5 glasses each later the 750 was duly opened and consumed. As usual a very fun and exhaueting trip as you do things not usually in your routine like staning on your feet for hours, but after 40 years I thot maybe I'd get used to it. No way Jose. Last nite I sank my fat Tuishie in my recliner, opened a bottle of 96 Craig Howell Mtn, drank 3/4ths of it and was awakened by CB to go to bed. Great to be HOME! WW

So....did anyone take that woman up on her offer? Or did she leave thirsty? (Sometimes, those propositions can backfire!)

After all that wine I would imagine that no mater how she looked when sober, she was probaly lookin perty good by then. I would be supprised if she went away thirsty.

Well, ya never know.... One time at a bar (many years ago) a couple I didn't know conversed with me for a while and then asked if I would donate some, er, "seed" to them. I politely declined.
