Anyone have any experience with their wines? We were given their '02 meritage called "The Oracle" and were wondering about how long to let it sit and what to expect. Thanks in advance. You know how we are with Cabs . . . still learning. The gift also included an '03 Kosta Browne RRV PN. We have a much better idea what to do with that one

I remember their 01 getting a 70 somthing rating by the top rag. Never tried it though. You will have to post when you try it. I am interested in your take.

I actually quite like miner, a moderately (??) priced wine from Napa, The Oracle (a bordeaux blend) typically sells for around the $45 to $50 mark. I've not had this one but I do have a few of their cabernet Sauvignon. Generally a pretty full bodied wine, so it generally should be able to handle a bit of cellaring.

Have had several vintages of Miners' wines and found them to be very good to excellent. Last vintage I bought was the 97. Needs from 5-10 years normally. WW

Here are my notes on some of their wines. We didn't taste the Oracle:

the '98 miner oakville cab was one of my favorite wines that i drank last year. and considering the vintage, what does that tell you about their quality? and as of a year ago, there was still some tannins in this wine and it hadn't yet peaked. i'll be trying my next (and last) bottle of this in '06. and i imagine this will prolly hold another few years. so this bottling is a solid 3-7 year ager, depending on your preference.
