My my what a delicious surprise! Saw this in my complex inventory system(note please KC) and for the life of me couldn't remember a thing about the wine. Blend of super Tuscan varietals, Sangiovese, cabernet, and cab franc but have no idea about % of each. My guess is it's about 60, 30 and 10 in the order as listed. Nice brite ruby. Nose has lovely cherry, meaty, spicy notes and all come over on the palate. Nice entry, solid center and a 4+ lapper finish. 91/90 53 per 14.9% alc. WW (BY the by I forgot to mention that the vineyards location is in Oakville Napa)

Here's the winemaker's notes. 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes:
The Showket Vineyards 2002 Asante sana is a wine that makes you dream. It's exotic, mysterious, and provocative... wild, and maybe even a little dangerous. The name is inspired by Dorothy Showket's travels in Kenya. Heidi Barret blended 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which is estate grown on the hillsides of Oakville. In the glass this wine exhibits a ruby red hue with smoky aromas of roasted coffee, cacao bean and a hint of freshly cut straw. In the mouth flavors of freshly steeped
tea, macerated strawberry and a mélange of spiced black cherry and oaky vanilla detonate on the palate. They say Asante sana is Swahili for “Thank you very much” we think it might be Swahili for “Sexy Juice.
