Another Calif letdown. Stored correctly and was doa. I could get a hint of all the things that should have been there, I would estimate it is down to about 10% of where it should have been.

What a bummer. This is one of the few top-end 97s I DIDN'T buy. The makings were there but I found a strange component that was off-putting. As great as the 92 and 94 vintage from this normally solid producer, something went off in this killer vintage. Sorry buddy. WW

I guess I should pass when you pass WW. First the Frogs then the Etude. You need to put out a newsletter. Hey while I have your attention, I received my first Hillside Select offering. It was for the 2000 vintage, which I would normally pass on, but I wanted to stay on the list for the 01. If you don't buy, you are off the list and being that this was my first year to be on, I wasn't passing. Parker says 95 and possibly wine of the vintage for Cal Cabs. Your thoughts?

For once Big Bob and I agree. Tried it from barrel and was completely shocked at the depth after the others I tasted. A big YESSERIE on this hummer. WW

Thanks WW. ALways nice to hear that I've made the right decision.
