you're completely over the dumb flu. Opened a botlle of 97 Gallo Barrelli Creek Cab yesterday as I felt almost normal for the 1st time in 12 days. Shoulda' stuck with water. The only thing I can report is it's still throwing more and finer sediment than I've ever experienced in a bottle. Curses!!!!! WW

Glad you're feeling better.

Hang in there, Verne. That must have been one powerful bug that got hold of you! Send it to Howard Dean or Hillary - or anywhere but Texas!

(Notice the Weener just hit 9 grand!)

Which one IK, I want to frame it.

I'm going back on antibiotics myself today for a chronic sinus infection. i won't be drinking much in the next week or so. Drat!

Had to taake CB to the Emergency Clininc yesterday. This is one powerful virus. WW

- Innkeeper - 02-23-2006

Is she alright? Did they give her any medications that maybe you should have had?

- robr - 02-23-2006

I was very nearly taken to the emergency room with it too. It's the worst virus I ever had. It jumped straight into my lungs and damn near suffocated me with inflammation and mucous. I'm still dealing with the aftermath almost a month later. I hope she feels better soon!

That's too bad, Verne. We've been fortunate up this way - so far. Nothing worse than a little cold.

- TheEngineer - 02-23-2006

When I'm just getting off being sick, (which happens quite a bit), I usually grab a bottle downstairs of one that I know I did not really like that much......If I end up being okay with it, I know that I'm still sick. ...Regardless, I don't end up wasting a bottle.....and find a way to get ride of bottles that I don't really care for.....

- winoweenie - 02-24-2006

Looks like CBs' turned the corner as have I. Today will tell the complete tale. WW

- wondersofwine - 02-24-2006

All the best to the pair of you.

WW: sorry to hear about CB, but it sounds like you're both on the upswing. i finally am, too, but getting maybe 3-5 percent better each day. this has been 10 brutal days on this end. flu, then severe sinus infection.

been 11 days since i touched a drop of wine, and i'd guess it'll be at least another week til i do.

sorry to hear a bottle of the precious '97 barelli creek had to give its all for nuthin.

Just passed the 2 week mark here and still with lingering symptoms. As an afterthought, since we both got this stupid stuff you don't think there's enny possibility this coulda' been a grape-born virus from the 95 crop? WW

WW, what I am finding is that the cabs are tasteless and vinegary, the wines are a bit better, but the sweet stuff is still good. Don't know why, but port still tastes like port to me, even with a sinus infection. I just can't drink very much.

Tonight I plan on opening a chard IK recommended - maybe... depends on how I feel in a couple of hours from now...
