Deep opaque purple-black with a purple rim. Nose of black berry, currant, dark fruits, and cedar. On the palate, Lush and rich, Deep full currant, berries, little bit of high toned gycol, a bit of tannins and hint of herbs peak out at mid palate and finishes just a hint hot. Very nice but only bad news is that was my last 02 Lone Canyon Vineyard.

Engineer,
I got to re-taste that wine about a month ago while working the CO market. It has come around very nicely in the bottle, and I believe it is in a really good spot right now, but of course will only get better with more time. Last night we had a couple of bottles of the 98 Lone Canyon, which we never released, and it has held up great and is drinking quite well also right now and still has lots of age ability on it. Others we have tasted recently was a 83 Chat Gloria St Julien and a 92 Rubicon. Of those two I preferred the St Julien, though the Rubicon still had a lot of great tannin structure to it, so it was actually a harder decision than expected. Oh and we do have more 02 Lone Canyon here at the winery, but it will be hard to find out there in the retail market.

I'm starting to find orphans like WW is. Found this one well back in a case, so popped it. It was even nicer than last time. This bottle seemed even more rich, more dense but somehow still very youthful. Shame that this is my last bottle as it looks like it could use a few years more yet to come completely together.
