does anyone know about this cabernet? i see that 1997 was raved about a couple times, but i'd like to know what to have this with and what you all think of it. thanks!

Hi Jimnyo and welcome to the board. There's a lot of difference in the 97 and 98. 97, almost across the board, produced fine wines. A lot of wine writers have dubbed it " Best ever Calif Vintage". I'm not convinced yet as I want to see the wines in 5 years and see if they're better than the 94s. 98 is another matter. A very difficult vintage that has produced more duds than doozies. I haven't tried the 98 RR but can say it should be an early drinker and is not as good as the fine 97. WW
