- hotwine - 10-19-2002 Pulled this one off the wine list at the Grey Moss Inn last night to accompany a filet for her and a ribeye for me. Grey Moss was a station on the stage line between Boerne and Helotes NW of San Antonio in the late 19th century, and is one of our favorite local restaurants, although a bit pricey by local standards. The wine showed ripe blackberries and plums on the nose and palate and was mildly "hot" at 13.7% alcohol, yet was excellent with the steaks and twice-baked spuds and mixed veggies. All of $26, yet I see on Wine-searcher that $22 is normal retail, and the winery's Website lists the 2000 vintage at $20, so the restaurant's price was quite generous. I'll look for it at local outlets. - Innkeeper - 10-19-2002 Sounds great! Will look for it. - winoweenie - 10-19-2002 I love this restaurant and know I'll nebber be there. WW |
