After the 97 yesterday came on this today and decided it would be fun as a follow-up. Deep ruby. No browning. lovely nose of currants, cassis, red fruits, and spice with the lovely hint of Rutherford dust thrown in. All hit the palate with some bakers cocoa and vanilla. Lovely entry, heavy-weight center and a 4&1/2 lapper finish this outstanding bottling still has another 2-5 to shed the sweet tannins in the back-ground. One of the 2 besr Napa bottlings ever IMHO for this super bottler. 93/95. 20 by the box. 12.5% alc. WW (YEPPO 12.5)

Gotta love that price. Have to love your descriptor "Rutherford dust". Understood it the first time I read it from one of your posts. Now I look for it. Thanks for the note.

Are these the Special Selection or a secondary line? I know the Caymus 1994 you brought to the last Finger Lakes offline was one of my favorites (along with Beaulieu Vineyards Georges de Latour and Markham with Etude and Hess Collection also in the running).

I've found that both the regular and the SS seem to be outstanding every vintage. Are you still buying both each vintage WW?

Guess I musta' left town when this was posted. Opened the last of the mohicans today and it was atill swinging. Dead stoney OTOIG. Should hold solid for another 6-10. Beautiful bottle. And WOW this is the regular Napa bottling. The one I brought to FLs was the Special Selection. No change in scoring. WW
