A cab from France. No particular appellation.

Deep garnet in color. Very dark fruitforward with lots of oak on front end. Tannins at end with a bit of an alcohol kick. Not very well balanced and nothing complicated. Reasonable for $9.99 but nothing to go back for. Prefer a Las Rochas for $2 less.

Had this along with the chard at a tasting last fall. Pretty much teh same impression as you. OK, but not worth a second try. The chard was a touch better, but also a pass.
