- ddf68 - 01-15-2001 I've got a couple Fife Spring Mountain Reserves and I'm going to try one soon. The only question is whether to test it on myself or with friends. Anybody got the skinny on the vintage? ddf - winoweenie - 01-15-2001 ddf68, Haven`t had the Fife from 93 but generally the 93`s in my cellar are a little leaner than the 92`s. The Spring Mtn Reserve (Where Fife Probably got their fruit) is a super wine that needs time, The Phillip Togni has started coming around.Wish I could be more hep` but I kinda` skimpped on the 93`s. Try stumpin` me on the 94`s(hehehehe). WW - ddf68 - 01-16-2001 Thanks for the advice. The friends in question, who are from CA and have some connections in Napa, are rumored to be bringing something special. I don't think "lean" and "needing time" is going to hold up my end. Back to the drawing board. As to your challenge, how about '94 Elyse Tietjens? And I really prefer the 96 Tietjens to any of the previous vintages from this vineyard.WW [This message has been edited by winoweenie (edited 01-17-2001).] - ddf68 - 01-17-2001 Touche. (My computer literacy does not extend to producing the accent aigu that should be over the e). ddf [This message has been edited by ddf68 (edited 01-17-2001).] - Drew - 01-17-2001 Check the key to the left of the number 1. Drew - ddf68 - 01-17-2001 That one appears by itself. I think there's a way to make the accent appear over the letter. Also, the e in touche needs the accent aigu, which angles low to high. The key to the left of 1 is high to low, accent grave. As you can see, I've remembered all the really useless things I learned in high school French. ddf - hotwine - 01-17-2001 Really useless things frequently come in handy on this board..... - mrdutton - 01-17-2001 If you are using windows, go to the character table. You can get the the `s, ^s, 's, and other such things hanging around various letters that you might ever think you'd need. - RAD - 01-17-2001 Of course, if you were an editor in a former life as I once was, you'll know the ASCII codes: accent aigu is Alt+0233, accent grave is Alt+0232, etc...see? é è RAD |
