I have the chance to pick this up at the bargain price of $39.95 a bottle. A shop out here just got tons of it in, so I'm guessing this was a recent release from the winery. Anyone have an opinion on whether this is a buy?

WW should weigh in. It sounds like a good buy. I know the '94 was very good but I have no knowledge of the '93. I would buy at least one bottle and try it before committing to a case or half-case.

Ar one time this was one of my fav drinking cabs. Second WOWs' advice to see how the donkey survived the trek. This is close or less than the to the original release price. GO FER IT BUBBA!!!!!! WW

turns out this was indeed a recent winery release. spoke with some folks who have drank a bottle recently and decided to take the leap and order a six-pack (since they didn't have in-stock in their hollywood shop and had to ship down from san francisco). picked it up yesterday and was happy to see these bottles were still sealed up in their original wooden case. will let these babies rest a little then pop one and report back.
