Another P/Q leader from this upper Carneros winery. A textbook cab, lots to like. Clear ruby with a sparkle, with a schnozz of cassis, coriander, cigar-box, and liberal helpings of red and black fruits. All comeover on the palate. An almost, sweet floral note on entry, solid center weight, and a kick-fanny 4 lapper finish. This family owned estate consistantly make great bottles.91/93.29 by the box.WW

Ever had the '94? I have a single bottle and the rep. was that the stuff was pretty firm. Any idea on the drinking window?

- winoweenie - 11-06-2003

Yes Jorog. Think I posted on this 5 or 6 mos ago. My personal notes said this sucker was drinking beautifully but would not be offended by another 2-3. These are predicated on pristine storage. If not, don't let that hummer go " Bucko"(over-the-hill)WW

Thanks!

Hey, weener. Does the fruit for the Truchard come from Carneros?

- winoweenie - 11-07-2003

KC Bubba... Whar about "Estate " befuddles youse????

- Kcwhippet - 11-07-2003

Yeah, but I would have thought it a bit cool for Cab Sav way down there to mature as well as further up the valley. Haven't had the Truchard for a few years - think I might try it again.

His property Is on the old Sonoma hiwy and the cab area is up on the hillside so he gets some great fruit. Have his reserves which are slighly better even. WW
