One of the few 98s' I tried and decided to put in the cellar. Deep, dense wine that has none of the negatives of this hard vintage. Sweet candied cherry nose with lots of spices , vanilla, flowers, and cocoa going on and continues on the taste. This is one of my favorite Meritages and always in the top 5. Unfortunately they don't give you a clue as to the mix and I like the wine enough it doesn't matter. Silky is really the definative adjective for this lovely bottle. Not sure it's a match for the outstanding 97 but as they say in the music biz, " It's close enough for jazz". WW 90/89. 37 per by the box.

Second that, WW. Decent bang for the buck.

Last time was there, I decided to ask the gal behind the counter how they came about the name "Oroppas." Seems they used to be owned by Sapporo of Japan, which is "Oroppas" backward.

Those dirty racelfritzes knocked a group I'd put together to buy this beautiful propert from the good Doctor. But thas' another story. WW

This is a story that has to be done one-on-one as there are too many things that are actually embarrasing to the various individuals. Needless to say the Japanese Drinks King only quintupled the bid of ours that was within one week of being accepted. WW
