Zahtila? On the rec of one of my wine guys, I picked up a bottle of their '01 Beckstoffer Vineyard Georges III on sale at $39. I know it's nowhere close to being ready now, but is this one that I should grab another bottle or two at this price? As my TNs would likely indicate, I've been more of a Pinot Noir and Spanish wines guy, with little experience with Cab. I am starting to dabble, however, hence this pickup (dabbling probably due to the quiet, subversive influence of WWs many mouthwatering TNs). Any advice/comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi D. Not familiar with Dantilla or what ever but can say with confidence that the Beckstoffer Vineyard is one of the greats. Every wine I've had from their jernt has been outstanding. The 97 Merryvale from the vineyard got a keen lil' 96 from Parker and WS. WW [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/wink.gif[/img]

I'm selling wine for a friend of mine who opened his own distributorship last year.
This is one of their wines. I haven't had it yet, but I have a few in the house.
I'll see what I can dig up for you on the distributor level.

Baby killer!!!
Anne made me open this on Christmas, as she wanted to try out an airating decanter funnel and a Clef du Vin "toy" that is supposed to tell you how a wine would age. This wine became the drinking game experiment wine to see if it really works (I doubt it, but she swore that she could tell a difference). Anyway, what a monster blockbuster of a wine. As one would expect, it is huge right now and the tannins were substantial. Dark purple to red, decanted throughout evening. Dark fruits -- black plum and blackberry predominant -- with some earthy flavors. About 1/3rd of the bottle sat in the decanter open until the next morning. Only then did it really shine. Liquid velvet, beautiful fruit, tannins had started to melt away. We polished it off before breakfast. I'll buy more to let it sit for 10 years. FWIW, WS 87, W&S 90, and WE 93 (Cellar Selection-- said drink to 2020).
