Gary made this from purchased grapes all from the Rutherford appellation and used a blend of 76% cab, 18% merlor,4% cab franc, and 2% petite verdot. A dark ruby distance runner. This displays ir's heritage with red fruits, cassis, cardamon, and the typical dust made famous by Charlie Wagner.Assertive entry, weighty mid-palate, and a solid 4&1/2 lapper finish.A really solid effort.91/93. 27 by the box.WW

Nice note, WW. Had sent a bottle by way of my future SIL to his dad earlier today; hope he enjoys it with BEEF. I need to get him off his Mouton Cadet kick.....

WW: i have but one bottle of this wine that i bought solely on reputation (and the fact that i loved the 97). when would you suggest i get that baby out of storage and drink up? i *do not* want to pop it too late. would rather just have to decant a little longer.

and BTW, you gonna make it down to the tampa area anytime soon? we still need to do dinner at bern's.

Happy and Merry there Newsie!. My trip east of the big double s-i-s-i-p wil be to the SW growing region of New Yarkk for the off-line. Without optimum storage I think this bugger should be opened by 06-07. With decanting it is drinking better than the average bear rite now. Are you coming to the Finger Lakes or Toe Rivers or whatever the place be? WW

back at ya, WW. and thanks, i'll pop my bottle of pine ridge in a couple of years.

and yes, i do plan on making that trip to upstate new yawk in may. haven't definitely committed yet cause i don't know my wife's situation re. school (she'll be finishing her third year of vet school around then). but even if i'm flying solo, i will make it up there somehow. really looking forward to meeting the folks from this board. and spending three days in a beautful setting drinking d*mn good wine isn't too bad, either.
