- newsguy - 05-21-2002 i just found out i can grab bottles of these wines at $40 each (which is about as high as i can pay for a wine). looking for thoughts on whether this would be worth it, and which is the preferred vintage. i'm guessing these would be smart purchases, but need a little reassurance because of the price. thanks! - winoweenie - 05-21-2002 Hi Newsguy. The 95 IMHO would be the superior buy because of the provemnance plus this wine was #44 on the WS top 100 list. It was 25 on release. Think I've posted on it in the last 6 months. Know it's at least a 91. WW - newsguy - 05-24-2002 thanks much for the advice. will grab as many of the 95s as i can carry home with me on the plane! - newsguy - 05-24-2002 oops, almost forgot. found an orphan of the 97 hess collection last night at my regular wine shop. that baby's now gonna join my 4 other 97s in the locker. - Drew - 05-24-2002 Keith there's a lot of '97 Hess Collection at the wine shop in Falston that I mentioned a time ago. Can't remember the price but if you're interested I know the owner will hold some if you make it up this way....no Barelli though! Drew |
